    CIWEM ELECTS NEW HONORARY FELLOW

    At its meeting in January CIWEM's Trustee Board elected Keith Howells, Chairman of Mott MacDonald, into Honorary Fellowship of the Institution.  This is the highest accolade that the Instituiton can bestow for services to the environment and to the Institution.

    Keith has been with Mott MacDonald for 36 years starting off as a Design Engineer in 1974, working his way up to MD in 2004 and Chairman in January 2011.  He also sits on the Advisory Board of Cranfield School of Management and is Chair of the UK's ACE Large Consultants Group.  Keith was nominated in recognition of the huge support that Mott MacDonald has given to the Institution during Keith's time as MD and Chairman.

    On 15^th December CIWEM obtained planning permission to undertake the development of its new Head Office at 106-109 Saffron Hill, London.  Detailed design will now progress prior to the appointment of a lead contractor in the spring and completion of the project in the first half of 2012
