FORMER PRESIDENTS RECEIVE WORLD FOOD PRIZE
Former president of Ghana, John Kufuor, and former
president of Brazil, Luis Inacio Lula da Silva, have won this
year's World Food Prize for their work to reduce
hunger.
The $250,000 (approximately £154,000) prize money will be split
between the two laureates.
The World Food Prize was established by Norman Borlaug in 1986
to recognise efforts to combat world hunger. Borlaug
received the Nobel Peace Prize in 1970.
